IMPROVING STUDENTS’ ABILITY TO WRITE A DESCRIPTIVE PARAGRAPH THROUGH OUTLINE TECHNIQUE AT SMP NEGERI 1 MOWEWE

Abstract
Writing skill is a language skill in expressing ideas or information in written form. This research was classroom action research. Classroom action research is problem-based research that aims to solve problems that arise in the classroom, then corrected through teaching and learning activities. This study aims at improving the process and skills of writing descriptive paragraphs of class VIII A students at SMP Negeri 1 Mowewe through the outline technique. The research design used Kemmis and McTaggart model. The data collection methods used in this research were: 1) test, 2) observation, 3) interview and 4) documentation. The data analysis technique used was descriptive statistics, namely by finding the average and the results are described. The results showed that in the first cycle individually out of 23 students, there were only 9 students or 69% who pass the minimum completeness criteria (KKM). Classically it has not been fulfilled because the average value obtained was 50. Whereas in cycle II, there were out of 23 students there were 19 students or 82.6% who had passed the KKM and classically it had been fulfilled by 82.6%. Based on the research results above, it could be concluded that the learning outcomes of descriptive paragraph writing of class VIII A SMPN 1 Mowewe through the outline technique have increased.
