Abstract
Tanggetada is a sub-district in Kolaka Regency that is densely populated and develops in various fields. These developments have resulted in increasing community needs. This can also give rise to a consumptive culture that can have a bad impact on public health, so it is necessary to procure health facilities to be able to handle health problems. Activities at the Tanggetada Health Center will produce medical waste. The purpose of this study is to determine the number of solid medical waste generation based on its source at the Tanggetada Health Center and to find out the management of solid medical waste carried out at the Tanggetada Health Center. The data analysis was carried out using qualitative and quantitative analysis.
The results of this study show that the number of solid medical waste generation based on its source in the Health Center Tanggetada, a source of non-sharp objects infectious waste, shows that the Emergency Unit Room (ER) has the largest percentage, which is 0,22 kg/day (27,5%) of other medical waste generators. The smallest medical waste generating unit is 0,14 kg/day (17%), in the KIA Poly and Dental Poly Room. In the largest Infectious Waste Sharp Objects in the room Emergency Department (ER) of 0,13 kg/day (23,63%). Nursing Room Instay, KIA, Dental Poly is smaller, which is 0,1 kg/day (18,18%). This is because patients in the Emergency Department (ER) or medical procedures are carried out more than other sources of waste generation.
The conclusion of solid medical waste management at the Tanggetada Health Center is that most of the procedures have been carried out in accordance with the standard operating procedures (SOP) and regulations of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia.
